I would bring that:
1 : martial one handed weapon +5 +30hp + collection of shields with +10ar vs type +30hp. This is your "i'm not casting" set. Change your shield in the first minutes to protect yourself better against the biggest threats.
2: 40/40 air : this is your "i'm spamming blinding surge" set
3: 40%fast cast 20%enchantment earth staff : "i'm casting ward or air attunement" set. Or 40/40 earth set for a better half recharge probability on ward.
4: air wand and focus: +30 energy -2 regen +30 hp. "i'm low on energy but need to cast" set.

40/40 Air, 40/40 Earth, Shield, High. No need for an enchanting part unless you have multiple enchantments; if so consider a 40/20/20 air staff.

I usually just go with a staff since I can't be bothered to go look for a 20/20 set. If recharge times as an issue as an ele, Assassin's Promise.

My choice as well. I also use +60hp mods when I don't feel like getting attacked with aggro control goes to hell.

I used staff before moving to 40/40 some time ago. After changing, I noticed so huge difference that i will never move to staff again. Those suck. 40/40 set costs ~10k if you buy 2x droknar's keys.

I use a Tormented Fire Staff with an Adept Head and an Enchanting Grip. This gives me 40% HCT of Fire magic, 20% HSR and with Mindbender, another 20+% HCT. Total equals over 60% HCT of Fire spells. The 20% enchanting lets Mindbender and Fire Attunement last alittle longer.

I agree w/the OP- That's all I use.

Although, in some cases, such as if you are earth tanking to HM farm Ice Imps or something, you might want a different weapon set with + health, since you will have plenty of energy management and the timing is taken care of without having to spam all that fast.

I suppose it depends on your playstyle, and what you're doing at the time.

idk why you'd want to sacrifice the +30hp on your defensive set when you're already carrying another martial weapon. I'd run:
f1 20/20 20/20 (main set)
f2 +5/+30 spear, *w/e*/+30 (defensive set)
f3 15/-1 15/-1 (emergency energy set)
f4 10% hct 20% ench long/flatbow (pulling/attunement casting)
since you should only stay in defensive set when under preasure, and ench set when putting up attunements, might as well take advantage of the mod space and keep +60hp on the defensive set while you have free mod slots on your bow there.

Ok, so I have a couple staves for various use. I purchased A destroyer wand/offhand set recently. What do I need to get in order to make this set 40/40? I am a noob when it comes to getting the right pieces, so please no flames. here is the info on how they are now:

Destroyer Fire Scepter of Memory
HSR Fire magic 20%
Inscription +5 en ^ 50%

Destroyer Fire focus of Fortitude
En +12 Fire Magic
HP +30
Inscription slot empty.

Aptitude Not Attitude inscrip on the Scepter, with a Wand Wrapping of Memory.

Forget Me Not inscrip on the focus, with a Focus Core of Aptitude.
